Artur Popko – the current Vice-President of Budimex – was appointed by the Supervisory Board to the position of President of the Management Board and CEO of Budimex SA. He will assume this role on 20 May 2021.
The personal change resulting from my resignation from the previous position has gone very smoothly. Artur Popko knows the company very well, he has knowledge, competences and experience built over the years of work in the industry and at Budimex. We have been cooperating directly with each other for at least 11 years. During this time, together with his subordinate team, he has built a leading role in the infrastructure and railway construction industry. Recently, he has also taken over the responsibility for general and power construction and sat on the Supervisory Board of FBSerwis and Mostostal Kraków. The appointment of Artur Popko is a part of the overall succession programme in the company covering all managerial positions, says Dariusz Blocher – the current President of the Management Board and CEO of Budimex SA.
Currently, Budimex is the leader in the road sector, and remains among the top two largest contractors for the modernisation of railway lines in Poland.
I would like to thank Dariusz Blocher for the long-term cooperation and support, as well as the Supervisory Board and the entire Management Board of Budimex for the trust placed in me. Budimex Group is in a stable economic and market situation. The company’s priorities, values and business plans set in recent years and months remain unchanged. As before, we will remain a transparent and promise-keeping company. Our priority will remain safety, taking care of the welfare of employees and local communities in which we operate,” says Artur Popko, the new President of the Management Board of Budimex.
Artur Popko has been with the Budimex Group (Budimex Dromex) since 2004. Initially he held the position of Site Manager and then Contract Director. In 2009 he was promoted to the position of District Director and then Branch Director. From 2011 he managed the infrastructure construction area of Budimex SA. In 2019 he was appointed to the role of Vice President taking responsibility for the entire operational area of Budimex SA. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering at the Bialystok University of Technology with a specialization in Transportation Construction.
