Colas is taking over the Skanska label

Skanska sold 11 asphalt mixing plants to Colas Polska, a company belonging to the Bouygues group, one of the largest construction and service companies in Europe. The transaction worth approx. PLN 120m involved 11 plants and laboratories. Colas took over from Skanski also approx. 330 employees. The company will increase its resources by 132 machines and intangible assets, including unique recipes for bituminous mixtures. Annual net sales in 2018 in all sold plants amounted to about PLN 300m.
The sold plants are located in Gdansk, Poznan, Naslawice, Zabrze, Skawina, Anielin, Warsaw, Ostaszew, Gutkowo, Debska Wola and Bor. So far, Colas Polska has operated mainly in western provinces. Thanks to the transaction, Colas Polska will become a significant road construction operator in Poland. The agreement also ensures continuation of current contracts in the purchased production plants, including production and delivery of bituminous mixtures, aggregates, emulsions and additives.
Skanska informed that the sale of the bitumen production plant is related to the adjustment of the company’s operations to the assumptions of the We Build Cities strategy. The strategy, which has been implemented since the beginning of 2018, assumes focusing on operations in seven key cities and selected market segments. President of Skanska S.A. Magnus Persson assures that the sales of the plant will not affect the pace of work and continuity of the company’s projects.
