Construction of the S19 section of the Via Carpatia has started

In Modliborzyce, on 20 August this year, the construction of a section of the S19 expressway between Krasnik and Janow Lubelski, about 18 km long, was officially commenced. It is a part of the international route Via Carpatia, which is to be ready in April 2021.

Strabag as general contractor

The S19 road in the Lubelskie Voivodeship on the section Krasnik Południe-Janow Lubelski Połnoc will be built by a consortium of Strabag and Strabag Infrastruktura Poludnie. The gross cost of the investment is PLN 389.9m. The design & build agreement was signed on 30 October 2017. The construction is to be completed in the spring of 2021.

The contractor is currently felling trees, carrying out the first earthworks and plotting the future route in the field. It also conducts sapper reconnaissance and collects aggregates.

Road S19

It is almost 130 km in progress, in the design and build mode. The construction of the S19 route is divided into 12 sections, six in each of the Lubelskie and Podkarpackie Voivodships.

For four sections in the Lubelskie Voivodeship a decision on the road investment permit (ZRID) has already been issued, and two more are expected soon. In Podkarpackie voivodship, on the other hand, four ZRID applications are being processed, and for two sections the documentation necessary to submit an application is being prepared.

Via Carpatia

In Poland, the Via Carpatia road will run through the following provinces: Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Lubelskie and Podkarpackie. It will include a series of S61, DK8 and S19 expressways with a length of about 680 km. The planned completion of the construction of the Polish part of Via Carpatia in the expressway category is planned for 2025.
