ERBUD acquires Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau GmbH

ERBUD Group has completed the acquisition of the German company Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau GmbH, part of the Bilfinger Group. The company provides maintenance services for the chemical and petrochemical industry across Europe.
With the acquisition of 100% of Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau shares, the ERBUD Group will significantly strengthen its international position, especially on the German market.
Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau is a company with a 30-year history, which provides services of construction and development of industrial installations, planned repairs, service and maintenance, assembly and disassembly of industrial installations, as well as production of elements and units of equipment and steel structures. The company employs over 300 people who work at four locations in Germany. Its customers include major companies such as Nynas, Wacker and Solvay. In 2020. Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau reported revenue of €39.3 million. The total value of the industrial services market in Germany is estimated at around €32 billion.

This transaction is in line with our strategy based on segment diversification and increasing the share of our industrial services segment in the Group’s revenues – says Dariusz Grzeszczak, President of the Management Board of ERBUD S.A.
– Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau is a company strong in the chemical industry – it employs qualified installers, has its own welding school, where it trains specialists from Germany and Poland, preparing them to work on the most demanding installations. These competences will broaden our offer of providing services for the industry – adds Radosław Górski, Member of the Management Board of ERBUD S.A. who is responsible for this area.
Bilfinger Rohrleitungsbau GmbH has been operating under its current name since 2013. The company previously operated as BIS IKR GmbH. Following the acquisition by ERBUD, the company will revert to its previous name. The position of chairman will be retained by Bern König, while Andreas Schmitz, CEO of the service company IVT Weiner + Reimann GmbH from Oberhausen, which ERBUD acquired in 2018, will join the board. This was Poland’s largest acquisition in the engineering and industrial service sector.
Earlier, Dieter Babiel joined the ERBUD Group team as Director of Strategic Development and HR in Germany. The experienced manager, who for the last years has been the President of the Main Association of the German Construction Industry, will be responsible for building the sales structure, company development and HR projects in Germany.
Other ERBUD Group companies operating in Western European markets are: ERBUD International, which operates on the volume construction market in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, and GWI, which specialises in residential construction and is based in Düsseldorf. ERBUD decided to expand the scope of its activity by a new segment related to production, sales and assembly of modular facilities. Production will take place in Poland, while sales, primarily on the German market. Within the next two years the company plans to produce 1800 modules annually.
