The company Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has announced a tender for environmental inventories for planned railway networks leading to the new airport. The estimated value of the contract is over PLN 26m.
Ongoing proceedings
The announced procedure will select six contractors with whom CPK plans to sign a five-year contract in the autumn. The value of the contract amounts to over PLN 26m. Selected companies will take part in organized partial orders, in which the order will be decided by the price.
First of all, the nature inventory will be carried out in the area where the high speed line Warsaw-CPK-Lodz will be built. In the next stage, the inventory will be performed depending on the current investment needs.
Natural inventory
The aim of the nature inventory is to identify protected, rare or endangered elements of the environment in the areas which are designated for future investments. The results of the inventory are one of the necessary parts of the environmental procedure that precedes the issuance of a building permit.
The maximum area of the nature inventory estimated by CPK is 220,000 ha. The first stage of the research will consist in conducting study studies and then field studies, the results of which will be presented in the nature expertise.
Central Communication Port
The planned new interchange is to be one of the largest airports in Europe, with the target annual traffic of about 100 million passengers. Initially, after the first stage of construction, it will be able to handle 45 million passengers per year. It will integrate air, rail and road transport. The preparatory works for the project will last until the end of 2019 and the construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
