The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), boasted of its success in using EU funds. GDDKiA is the largest beneficiary of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020 (POIiS). 91 GDDKiA’s projects are planned to be financed in this financial perspective.
54 agreements signed by GDDKiA
In the current financial perspective, 91 GDDKiA projects are to be financed. They were granted over PLN 42bn of EU funding.
The implementation and settlement of 54 agreements concluded by GDDKiA for co-financing from EU funds is already in progress. The next three applications are being considered. The total value of investments from 54 concluded agreements amounts to PLN 64.5bn, of which nearly PLN 30.8bn are EU funds. GDDDKiA has already used about 72% of the allocated funds, and by the end of the year it plans to submit applications for co-financing for nine projects.
No risk of losing EU funding
According to GDDKiA, in the case of investments in which GDDKiA has terminated contracts with contractors and will soon select new ones, there is no risk of losing the EU funding. The implementation of these projects does not extend beyond 2023. GDDDKiA added that in the sections where the works were in progress, most of the eligible costs had already been settled.
