Polskie Koleje Linowe (PKL) has prepared a strategy for the years 2019-2025. The company is planning to spend over PLN 400m on investments.
Investments in Zakopane region
PKL’s strategy for 2019-2025 assumes an investment plan worth PLN 412m. Almost half of this amount is planned to be invested in the Zakopane region (Tatra Mountains). The plans include modernisation of the cableway to Kasprowy Wierch and modernisation of the station buildings in Gubalowka. Investments on Kasprowy Wierch are to cost PLN 111m. The ski infrastructure in Szczawnica will also be expanded.
In addition to the Zakopane region, one of the largest projects will be the construction of a gondola lift over the Solina Dam (Zapora Solinska). The investment is to be completed in 2022 and its cost is about PLN 60m. An observation tower is also to be built there.
Further PLN 800m investments
The company’s revenue in 2018 amounted to PLN 117m and its operating profit to PLN 56m. PKL is already working on another investment plan, which may be worth up to PLN 800m. Half of this amount (PLN 395m) may be spent on the construction of new centres.
