The recruitment of loan applications in the program of supporting social rental housing (SBC) has just started, according to the announcement on the website of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK). The call for applications lasts from 1 March to 31 March, and the pool of available funds is as high as PLN 1.5bn.
The SBC program is intended for the construction of housing for people who have too much income to be able to live in a council flat, but do not earn enough to afford to buy their own apartment or rent it in commercial terms. The SBC loan can finance up to 80% of the investment costs with a loan period of up to 30 years and an interest rate equal to the 3-month WIBOR rate. The funds obtained in this way can be used for the construction of apartments for rent with a statutory rental rate, as well as for the revitalization or construction of buildings intended for housing cooperative tenants.
Preferential SBC loans are available to Towarzystwo Budownictwa Spolecznego (Social Housing Associations, TBS) as well as Spoleczne Inicjatywy Mieszkaniowe (Community Housing Initiatives, SIM), Housing Associations, and Municipal Companies.
