Supervisory Board of Rafako S.A. On 27 November 2019, entrusted the chair of the President of the Management Board to Pawel Jarczewski, the company announced. His most important task in the new role will be to stabilize the company’s situation and, as he announced, take advantage of the opportunity for dynamic development and strengthening the company’s position on the market.
Almost three decades of experience
Paweł Jarczewski is a graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Trade of the Warsaw School of Economics. He started his career 27 years ago in the engineering industry at PROZAP, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and contracting of technologies, as well as the purchase of industrial facilities. In 1999-2002, as the head of investment supply in Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy, he conducted negotiations on the purchase of new technologies. In this company, he participated in the process of building many new installations and coordinated purchasing processes for these investments.
In 2008-2013, he was President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy and then President of Grupa Azoty. During his term of office, the Group effectively resisted attempts by the Russian company Acron to take over influence.
In addition, Pawel Jarczewski held important positions in many international industry associations, which, as we read in the company’s announcement, will certainly strengthen Rafako’s position on global markets.
Over 3bn in the portfolio
At the end of June 2019, Rafako Group’s portfolio included contracts worth PLN 3.032bn in total, of which approximately PLN 1.844 bn is to be executed in 2019. The largest share in the Group’s portfolio are contracts in the area of power engineering and environmental protection – 78%, while the oil and gas segment accounts for 18% of the portfolio’s value. Rafako is also actively involved in the renewable energy market.
The company’s largest contract at present is the construction of a power unit in Jaworzno worth nearly PLN 4.5bn.
