Prefab residential estate built in Torun

The assembly of the housing estate, comprised of eight four-storey buildings with 320 flats, at ul. Okolna in Torun has been completed after 9 months of works. It is based on prefabrication technology – the modules were produced in factories and then assembled at the location. The investment is carried out as part of the market part of the government housing program, under PFR Nieruchomosci SA responsibility. The recruitment will start on 6 September.
Pekabex is the general contractor of the investment – the company specializes in the production and assembly of modern prefabricated elements. Prefabricated elements are produced outside the construction site and assembled on site by a few assembly teams – in just 9 months, the number of produced elements (walls, ceilings, staircases) has reached 3,598. Now, Pekabex is in the middle of finishing works inside the apartments and is starting work related to the development of common areas.
Recruitment for flats will start on 6 September and will consist of two stages:
- The local government will check whether the applications submitted by the candidates meet the social criteria and then will assign appropriate scores in accordance with the provisions of the resolution of the Torun City Council. Persons without legal title to another flat, families with children, and families with disabilities can expect additional points
- PFR Nieruchomosci SA will check the rental capacity of the applicants the tenants will be financially verified, i.e. whether they are able to show the total monthly net income at a level that allows paying the monthly rent. Each potential tenant will be also checked in BIG Infomonitor and the National Debt Register.
It is worth noting that Pekabex is also constructiong the Sianowskie housing estate in the same formula. The apartments are to be ready at the beginning of 2023. Specifically, the construction will cover seven three-story buildings with an average flat area of 50m2. Up to 90% will be two- and three-room apartments. The investment will buid based on prefabrication technology. Sianow will be the first location in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, where the investment will be built as part of the market part of the government’s housing program.
