Since the beginning of November, Skierniewicka Mirbud company has been winning an important tender every few days. The latest, settled on 18 November 2019, concerns the demolition and construction of the city stadium in Plock. The value of the offer was PLN 166.5m gross, and the whole investment will last three years.

Wide range of construction services

Mirbud operates primarily as a general contractor or general contractor in all segments of the construction industry. Its broad business profile enables the company to diversify its revenues. The recently won tenders include, apart from the sports facility mentioned above, road and residential construction projects.

At the beginning of November, the company signed an agreement with JHM Development (a developer company from the Mirbud group) for the construction of a multi-family residential complex in Lodz. The completion date was set for the end of September 2021, with the net value of the contract reaching PLN 40.7m.

A few days later, Mirbud’s offer in a consortium with PBDiM Kobylarnia (also from the Mirbud group) turned out to be the cheapest in the GDDKiA tender for the selection of a new contractor for the fifth section of the S5 Bydgoszcz Blonie – Szubin Polnoc expressway. Let us remind you that the Italian company Impresa Pizzarotti was expelled from this construction site in June this year. The offer of Kobylarnia and Mirbud amounted to PLN 359.43m gross (the budget of the Ordering Party amounted to PLN 299.82m gross). Since all bidders declared the same time of works and guarantees, Mirbud has the greatest chance to sign a profitable contract. In the middle of the month, the same consortium signed a contract with GDDKiA for PLN 254.15m for the reconstruction and adjustment of 22 kilometres of national road No. 18 to the motorway parameters (A18).

Full order book and potential for more

At the end of October 2019, Mirbud’s order book (including Kobylarnia) was worth PLN 2.99bn. It includes, among others, the largest contract in Mirbud’s history to date – for the design and construction of the Bielsko-Biala-Zywiec-Zwardon expressway, the Przybedza-Milowka section (bypass of Wegierska Gorka). The contract signed in October 2019 amounted to almost PLN 1.4bn. Previously submitted offers cause the portfolio to grow even further. In October alone, Mirbud submitted bids in 8 non-public tenders and 5 public tenders, while Kobylarnia submitted bids in 26 public tenders and 1 non-public tender.
